Winter tour cancelled
I'm very sorry to report that the tour originally scheduled for January/February 2003 has been cancelled. Peter Murphy backed out, and it was not possible to find a replacement. It's possible that something may be scheduled for the Spring, but it is far too early to say at this point. I will let you know as soon as I ave any information.

Winter tour planned...with Peter Murphy!
Yes, you heard right—I have just received confirmation that plans are in the works for a nationwide (US, that is) tour with the Furs and Peter Murphy. The tour is expected to run from mid-January to mid-February. More news to come as and when I get it...

Richard Fortus on tour with Guns n' Roses
Richard Fortus is currently touring with Guns n' Roses. Did you see him performing at the MTV Video Music Awards? If not, be sure to catch a rerun! Gn'R are the final act of the show.
Furs book in the works
Dave Thompson of Alternative Press has written a book on the Furs! Entitled Beautiful Chaos, the book will be available in January 2003 (256 pages, Helter Skelter LTD, $18.95). I will post a review as soon as I can get ahold of a copy. In the mean time, you can pre-order a copy at Amazon. Thompson seems to know what he's talking about when it comes to many of my favorite bands (completist Cure fans like me are probably very familiar with A Visual Documentary, the frustratingly error-ridden yet incredibly ambitious diary-style tome covering the first decade of The Cure's career), so I have high hopes for this book. If nothing else, it should at least contain some great photos.
